イスラエルでは、アドベントの間ろうそくを一本ずつ増やしていくのと同じような8日間の「光の祭り」（ハヌカ）をお祝いします。
キリストがお生まれになる165年前、神様はイスラエルに敵に対する大きな勝利を与えて下さり、神殿を清め（ヨハネ10:22）、再び礼拝堂として使えるようにされました。
その時、燭台用の油は１日分しかなかったのに、火はその後7日間燃えていました。
「ハヌカ」の間、燃えるろうそくの数を増やしていきながら楽しみ喜びます。
主が私達の為にも喜びの油を溢れるほど用意して下さいました！
光りましよう！

Just as we light candles one at a time during the four weeks of Advent , in Israel a “Festival of Light”(“Hanukkah”) is celebrated during 8 days.
165 B.C. as God gave Israel a great victory over their enemies the temple was cleansed and rededicated(John 10:22) for service.
But even though there was only enough oil found to keep the candlestick burning for one day it continued to burn for another seven days!
During Hanukkah the number of candles lit increases by each day and it’s a festival full of light and joy.
In the same way God has prepared “the oil of gladness” in abundance for everyone of us.
