町の中に住んでいる人が田舎へ行くと、夜空の星が普段よりも明るく光っていることに気付きます。
どうしてでしょうか？
田舎は町よりも周りが暗いのでそのように見えるのです。
光は決して暗闇に吸い込まれることなく、逆に周りを照らします。
世の暗闇が広がっていくと、イエス・キリストが世の光として強く輝いて希望を与えます。
私たちには、「起きよ。光を放て。」(イザヤ60:1a, b)と主からのことばが与えられています。
キリストに近づけば近づくほど、主の光と栄光を反射するようになります。

To people who live in the city and visit the country side, the stars on the night sky seem to shine brighter than usual.
Why?
It just seems so, because the darkness surrounding them is darker than in town.
Light can never be swallowed up in darkness, on the contrary, it lights up the surroundings.
As the darkness of the world spreads, Jesus Christ, the Light of the world shines brighter and gives hope to the world.
“Arise, shine!” (Is.60:1a), is a word given to us from the Lord.
The nearer we draw to Christ, the more we will reflect his light and glory.
