スミルナの教会は迫害と殉教の教会と言われています。
イエス様を救い主と信じる人がキリストの証人になります。
「証人」(見た事と聞いた事を話す人)という意味のギリシャ語には、「殉教(者)」と言う意味も含まれています。
イエス様の弟子の内、ヨハネ以外はみな殉教者となったそうです。
今、世界中でクリスチャンになる人の数は歴史上最多だそうですが、殉教する人の数も最多だそうです。
日本では信仰の自由があっても、「隠れクリスチャン」がとても多いです。
皆がキリストの証人として立ち上がるなら、聖霊の力に満たされ、多くの人々が救われます。
